Week Three: Wheres and Whens
Some people say the idea of dying is
terrifying; our existence stops and in the blink of an eye a lifetime becomes
just memories. The question rises up as we grow older, our consciousness starts
to dissociate from reality every now and then and we are forced to get distract
our minds with positive and progressive thinking but other people just can’t do
so. Some pretend to not be scared, others try to act oblivious to avoid the
inevitable, but to the ones who wish the cycle to end and are tired of living, contrary
to belief, they are given a second chance in a world where they have the
opportunity to see how life is without them, this place is called Icyl.
Icyl is a place where human souls who have
committed suicide are gathered to evaluate if they are worthy of a second
chance to be brought back to life. The main goal is to make them think
introspectively and retrospectively in order to obtain a new vision of their
own lives, most of the times a positive one. In this place, humans are shown
how life is without them after their passing, and at the very end, they’re
shown how others behave if they were to return to life.
In regards to time, a day in the human world
is equal to a year in this dimension, for the souls gathered in this place,
feels longer for daylight is predominant while their time in Icyl, therefore it
feels like an eternity to most souls. While they wait and reflect on their
actions, time serves as therapy to evaluate how sane are the souls in hopes to
go back into the human world to their respective bodies yet there are some
others who don’t necessarily follow the rule and steal other people’s bodies.
The whole town / dimension is pale and some
parts of it are inhabited, most of the people who live here look like ghosts
that have been in there for too long, yet there is another place that is more
relaxing to be at; a forest is where colors rule and rays of light fade in
between leaves that adorn the whole scenery. This dimension was built to serve as a therapy for broken hearts and souls that still have much more to give to the world.
